The Parable of the Two Programmers

Post by Scott Vlaminck

Not being a computer scientist by training, I don’t know whether or not people hear stories like this when they study computer science in school. Either way, I always get a kick out of them: The Parable of the Two Programmers.

About Scott Vlaminck

believes software development is more about people than technology; believes in agile processes; software developer, engineer, designer, architect, or whatever they're calling us these days; enjoys discussing software design; working on a program to write other programs (but it hasn't written itself yet).

I hadn’t heard that story in my CS degree. Then again my prof would have expected 2500 lines of code in a week, not 3 months.

Most of the stories we got were like the Dining Philosopher’s or Sleeping Barber’s problems.
